Holy sewing - the white work begins

Because I'm using the Swedish Royal Gown as my inspiration - I do not have a pattern, this is a first for me. Armed with nothing more than internet pictures of Princess Estelle, Lace from France and Nelona from Switzerland - I begin the journey.

The Swiss Nelona is so perfectly woven that i prefer to rip it rather than cut it, guarenteeing the grain line will always be straight.

The motif on the lace is Lily of the Valley - a flower referenced 15 times in the Bible and also a reference to Jesus in the popular hymn, Lily of  the Valley, he's the bright and morning star.
